It's almost Halloween in the world of the mansion spirits -- so it's time for some fun! These words have ominously appeared on one of the mansion walls and if a character even so much as looks their way or glances at them, they will either de-age or age up. Let's just be glad it isn't waves of blood of threatening twins.

Welcome to Kidmas v 2.0! A bit of a throwback to "i want to play a game". This is the first of two age-manipulation posts! Your characters can either be de-aged or aged up -- and while it's recommended to split multiple characters up between the two posts (mostly for the anti-captcha comment load), the time streams will mesh so that different affected versions can interact with each other. Ageing/de-aging and their memory of these events are by typist discretion, as always. Have fun playing!

Magnus takes in the shift in posture, and tries to translate it up, like, thirty-something years so he can guess at whatever baby Hanguang-jun is feeling. It's easier when he ages Hanguang-jun up to Galahad-sized and -shaped, actually. "I'm sorry," he says. "Too much, too fast?"

Sagramore bows politely back, albeit in a Western style. "What's thy name?"

Lucien regards her in silence for another moment or two, biting his lip. He will be brave and strong, like his uncles. "I am lost," he finally says in softly accented French.

[sagramore]

"I'm Sagramore," easily enough. "You're a climber, eh?"

[futaille]

"That is the best news ever. School is so boring and even if I'm in trouble tomorrow for not going today, then it's still probably less trouble I would have been in if I'd actually been there today, so I think that's a pretty good trade, don't you?"

[tallyyoungblood]

This ugly crumbly is even older than the last one she met, and Tally physically recoils. He's so--wrinkled. "Um," she says, trying to look at anywhere but his face. "Yes."

[lightbearinglord]

"Understood," Lan Wangji says. "Did your mother task you with that rule?"

Definitely not Laertes; this child is not nearly anxious enough. "I'm sure I could think of something. What's your name?"

"No!" Aleksander said defensively. "I'm just looking for my madraya. I can't remember where she said she would be, that's all."

[sagramore]

"I'm sorry. That's frightening, isn't it? What's thy name, little one?"

Lan Zhan manages a slightly tremulous nod. His hands have balled up at his sides again and suddenly he finds that he can't speak. This is a familiar feeling, that feeling as if sticky rice is blocking every word from escaping his throat.

[aflashbastard]

Crowley wanders past with Noo-boh in his arms, the Furby having been unceremoniously¹ kicked out² by Lancelot after the divorce³. Another one? Before he can say anything, Noo-boh's tiny head turns with a mechanical whir.

Da... da...? He says, hesitantly.<sup>4

He blinks. She's speaking Hungarian. She's speaking Hungarian and she called him Papa.

"Lan Zhan," he says, much more quickly, because he knows his own name. He waits to be offered a name in return.

"Ohhhhh! Like another kid day, except thou art only a little younger, not an actual kid. ...How much younger?"

Crowley raises an eyebrow at the bow. "Don't I know you from somewhere?"

"Reading." He shrugs. Lucien is still young enough that his parents have astoundingly high hopes for his future at this point. He is a Good Boy, not yet radicalized by interesting writings his uncles have passed onto him.

"I completely agree."

[sagramore]

The recoil surprises him. Carefully, he asks, "Are you frightened? I promise I won't hurt you."

[tallyyoungblood]

"Horrid?" It's a weird, old-fashioned word, especially to describe the only thing Tally's ever truly wanted. She guesses she was a little rude, but now this crumbly is being rude back, so whatever. "Um, I think being ugly and diseased and stuff is way horrider."

[aflashbastard]

"Sure. Just a bite," he agrees. He can eat and he enjoyed it when he was in Tally's body and hangry -- but the feeling of food on teeth and the mush and the bits that get stuck... Ugh. He's not sure how Aziraphale can bear it.

[summerdude]

"Okay. I'll slow down." Magnus takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly, the way Hanguang-jun taught him to do when he's meditating. What do you even do with kids that are older than Sunny? Especially freaked-out kids who are your dad family? "Do you want some juice?"

[futaille]

"Étienne. Étienne Grantaire. Nice to meet you. Is this house as magnificent as it seems? I haven't been here very long but it seems really great."
